Overseeding is exactly what it sounds like: more seed is applied to the turf. It is typically performed on lawns that are less dense or thin in turf coverage. To be successful, overseeding must be completed post aeration. Its effects are limited if aeration is not performed first. In combination with a quality turf application program, overseeding is a great step towards transforming a balding lawn into dense thick turf.
